He never crossed a line, everything was done with attention to her care.

Throughout the story, you could feel his feelings for Juliet, yes, even when he spanked her or punished her. Maximo took loving and caring for Juliet to a new level, he was definitely an alpha guy with stalking tendencies, also obsessive and possessive with Juliet but his only goal in life from the moment that he met Juliet was to make her happy, to spoil her and give her everything that she wants or needs. He was a perfect mix of dangerous but with a big heart for the people that he cared for.

And then you have Maximo! Wow, Juliet was SO lucky to have him in her life. It was wonderful to see her blossom into this beautiful and confident girl/woman. I really loved how she, under Maximo care, became more happy, energetic and enthusiastic about life. Juliet was intelligent, careful, courageous, fierce, friendly and mature. Her difficult childhood with a father, who was always in trouble and didn’t really care for her made that she was used to taking care of herself.

I really loved both main characters very much!! Juliet was a mix of tough and vulnerable. The age gap between the main characters (Juliet and Maximo) was big (+ 16 years) and the heroine was a bit younger than I expected when the relationship started (she was 18 years old) but she was very mature for her age (Juliet has had a very difficult childhood) and that made that her young age and the big age gap wasn’t an issue for me and because of how their relationship functioned (Maximo wanted to be her sugar daddy, someone who took care of her every need) it felt natural to them and to me as a reader. Is it all an illusion or is it real? Will Maximo turn out to be a villain or her savior? Where Juliet feels safe, cared for, even happy but through it all, Juliet is waiting for the axe to fall, to discover what Maximo will demand in return of her for all the luxury and care that he gives to her. Because instead of murdering her, her father’s murderer kidnaps her to his home and shows her a different way of living. The night that her father was killed, the 17 year old Juliet thought that she was next but instead it’s the start of a new beginning and her life will never be the same again. Because just like the previous books that I read of this writer, I enjoyed this story very much!! When I started reading this story, I only knew that there was a big age gap between the main characters, I didn’t read any reviews because I wanted to discover this story for myself and I’m so glad that I did it that way. This book ‘Little dove’ have been lying on my TBR pile for a while now and I’m so happy that I finally read it.
